More Pictures

Okay so Katimavik pictures - part 6. This will probably be the way that pictures and the explanations will occur from now on. I will post pictures, then a few days later, the explanations. Try to bear with me as my computer time comes in chunks so I'll do what I can.

So the paintings are all from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, which we toured with the St. Stephen Katimavik group, who was spending the Saturday in town. The Salvador Dali paintings are thus labeled, and the first one is quite large, almost 25 feet tall.

After the art gallery is the random, crazy carrot! Yes, that is an actual carrot, that after being photographed became an ingrediant in carrot muffins.

We then have three shots hanging out in the new living room arrangement, after we had just recieved a nice, sectional couch. We now have enough seating to sit the whole group in the living room.

The remaining pictures are from our trip to St. Andrew's, which include a number of scenic shots of downtown and the bay, as well as Marc our project leader and the mural that they painted while he lived there. The man in the mural bears a striking resemblance, n'est pas? There's a little of the french that I've been improving on. Oh, yes and you must remember to LOOK as you exit the historic Algonquin Hotel. Oh and the bathrooms had crazy mirrors, one in front and one behind you. The high altitude shots are taken from the top of Chamcook Mountain and it was a beautiful day. Marc sat in the snow and ended up with a wet bum, which was pretty funny. It was a long day but it was a ton of fun.

Anyways, that's all for now.

Part 2 of Pictures Explained

Katimavik pictures - part 3

These pictures are from a Santa's breakfast that we volunteered at, and I believe that it was at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. After that crazy fun comes pictures taken during our visit to the Market later that day. Then there are shots of everyone hanging out in our room, relaxing in the evening, surfing the net on a laptop, listening to music and taking random pictures of each other.

Katimavik pictures - part 4

Well, when people are bored and there is a supply of excess condoms lying around, random, non-dirty things may occur. Like, someone trying to put one on their head, for instance. Bobble-head bears are apparently quite amusing to some. Others, like myself just change the colour of their hair to something a little more subtle, like electric pink for instance.

Katimavik pictures - part 5

These are slightly out of order as it took me a while afterwards before I could post them. This is Band Together 2, a tribute for a local artist who died of cancer. We had a reputable source say that it was worthwhile to go to it to see a local band called Hot Toddy. Hot Toddy had the misfortune of being last on the bill, and were preceded by miserable bands, though each one got ever so slightly better. We hung around for a while trying to kill time, hence the pictures as a result. The list of bands not to see: (in order of appearance) Melon Works, Naked Dayz, Grand Theft Bus, and All of Green. We heard Hot Toddy's CD later and they would have been worth seeing if we had had a nap while the first four bands played.

Anyways thats all for now.

Alright, I'll Explain the Pictures... I Guess!

So there have been a few complaints about the lack of description that comes with the pictures. I am going to attempt to fix this as best as I can. Last week I had the opportunity to upload a lot of pictures in the daytime while doing other things around the house, but I didn't get a lot of time to update my blog. Last week was my turn to be one of the house managers for the week, which basically means cooking, cleaning and looking after the house. Its a week off of work, but there is no shortage of things to be done.

So... Katimavik pictures - part 1

These pictures are from the time I left Pearson Airport in Toronto until the time that we got back from mass orientation on Sunday, November 27. The first few shots of people are in the Moncton Airport, as well as a few of the airport itself. These are followed by pictures taken on the walking tour of Fredericton, that we had on the second day. The next pictures are from mass orientation, which was held at a summer camp. The last bunch of pictures are from our stop at the World's Largest Axe.

Katimavik pictures - part 2
The first set of pictures in this batch are candid shots taken while hanging out in the living room, playing digital camera wars. These are then followed by a nuber of shots taken while walking around town. Since Fredericton was originally a port town there are a large number of beautifully crafted, old homes in the city. The party was to welcome us to Fredericton, and was hosted by the work partners in Odell Park lodge. The last set of pictures in this series is of the house and property, yes we live in the big yellow house.

I will post the description for the 3 other albulms at a later date.

Finally the Moment You've All Been Waiting For...

...Pictures!!!! Pictures are now available at http://spaces.msn.com/members/edmain. I have started working and have been placed at York Manor, which is a residence for seniors. Its a lot of fun, though it's tough keeping up a happy demeanor. I will have pictures of my job later but for now I wanted to post the first set of pictures. I will post in large batches as computer time is limited and irregular around the house. Email me with any questions at mr.eddie.main@gmail.com, and I will get back to you when I can.
